Tasha’s Story and the Eating Disorder Treatment that Really Works

In Summer 2008, Tasha came to Mark Newey in what she would call as “a right state”. Having suffered from acute bulimia nervosa since 1998, Tasha was malnourished and depressed.
Incredibly, Tasha had first realised she needed help five years earlier, when she had gone to her GP, who told her she was not underweight and therefore did not meet the requirements for having an eating disorder, despite the fact that she was making herself vomit up to eight times every day, exercising compulsively and taking hundreds of laxatives. Tasha persisted with the NHS, who ultimately prescribed a huge dosage of antidepressants. Inevitably, these did nothing to help as they did not confront the cause of her problem.
Tasha knew with an complete certainty that she had to change her mind and her life. The bodily and emotional symptoms of her eating disorder meant that she found it impossible to concentrate at work and was behaving erratically in the company of her friends and family. The desire to binge and purge consumed her every waking thought.
After just 3 sessions with Mark Newey of Winning Minds, Tasha was able to put her significant history of bulimia behind her. She says “for the first few weeks my purging slowed – whereas it had been at least twice a day, it was now only twice a week. Then one morning I just thought “why would you do that?” – making yourself sick seemed like such an ridiculous and bizarre behaviour to me”.
Tasha has been free from her eating disorder since August 2008:
“The distinction in my mindset is amazing. Before I’d decide I wanted to recover and I’d manage it for perhaps a few months, but I’d always find myself wanting to vomit and have to consciously think “no, I don’t do that anymore” and of course eventually I would cave. I always considered myself a “bulimic in recovery”. Now, it never enters my head. I don’t define myself as a person with an eating disorder any more. I am free”.
Tasha is now pleased and proud to work for Mark Newey Winning Minds, helping to educate others with regard to Mark’s ground breaking and spectacularly effective techniques. Like Mark, Tasha is devoted to allowing Winning Minds to help YOU liberate your life.
